A while back I had a problem with storage. My retainer was almost full, my bags were full; I just had too much crap.

The problem of course was that as a crafter, I was storing every material I would get just in case I needed it down the road, and when you have NQ/+1/+2/+3 versions of every branch, log, and feather it adds up.

One day I decided to actually go to http://ffxiv.yg.com, and actually *look* at which each of these materials was involved in. Maple logs/branches? Don't need em, the recipes are too low. That frees up 6 spots. Cedar Branches? Oooh, arrow shafts, better stock pile those. And so on.

I then made a list of all the materials I got while out harvesting and recorded two things: what recipes they were used for, and how badly I needed them.

Using this list, I was able to clean out my retainers bags from 88/100 down to 40/100. Cotton Bolls? Don't need em, all the arrow recipes use Hempen Yarn.
